Meet Your Midlife Friend Julia, Founder of Jewel Wellness

Welcome to Jewel Wellness. If you're a woman going through the midlife transition, and looking for help navigating all of the changes, you're in a good place, and I'm right here with you sister! We are the "sandwich generation", in between caring for our elders and young adult children, and it certainly can feel overwhelming! Along with these responsibilities we are changing physically: our hair is growing grey, our energy is inconsistent, our youthful skin shed and left a while ago, and many of us are puttin' on a wee bit of weight in the middle. Some of us feel like we've lost our mind somewhere along the way too (I promise you haven't!).

Life can feel more stressful now, and you might wonder why you can't deal with it like you used to. The worse part is you might start thinking your middle-aged friends are right, that "this is as good as life gets", and "it's all downhill from here", but don't believe them! You're not here to buy in to this narrative, and to throw in your hot flash towel. I suspect you are here because you want to find a way to move through midlife differently, and in a way that feels easier, healthier, peaceful, and energized. I want this way of being for you too, and I can help you get there. You see, at Jewel Wellness, we don't talk about wellness, we experience it! No amount of information is helpful unless you apply it, and that's what's different here. If you stick around for a while, you'll learn how to take action and get your midlife moving in a new direction.

Now a little about me. In my 20's, I started working in the fitness industry while going through a personal health challenge. What I didn't expect was that it would become the catalyst for my healing, and lead me into a fulfilling career. Fitness changed my life, and it inspired me to help others experience the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. With a career background in community recreation, personal training, wellness coaching, yoga and nutrition, my work now centres on empowering women to take charge of their health, wellness, and self-worth, and build greater resilience to stress.

My post-secondary education laid the foundation for understanding how recreation and leisure shapes lives: physically, psychologically, socially, culturally, economically, and environmentally. This perspective continues to guide my work today, recognizing that wellbeing extends beyond the individual, and into families, communities, and the world.


Over the years, my expertise has evolved into creating coaching programs, workshops, and retreats that integrate movement, mindfulness, and holistic wellness principles. Working with diverse groups has reinforced the importance of tailoring wellness experiences to meet people where they are, creating supportive, accessible pathways to healthier, more grounded living.
